Digital Holiday Photo Cards

Photo Requirements

It's all about the Photos!  Good photos make good photo cards.  Here are some tips and guidelines to ensure your Holiday Christmas Photo Cards look their best:

Submit original, high resolution (300 dpi is best, but 150 dpi may also be fine) unedited photos - full color if possible.  Submit full color photos and we will convert to black and white or sepia images. Request the specific conversion in the special instructions on your order form.

Your photo should follow these guidelines:

• High qualtiy digital photos taken with a good digital camera will produce the best final product.
• If original digital camera photos are not possible, use properly scanned images that are original digital photos saved as a JPEG format (See scanning tips below)
• Images at least 300 dpi or 600 x 900 resolution
• Clear images that are not too light or too dark
• Images in their original state - have never been cropped, edited or altered (such as red eye correction, black and white conversion)
• No cell phone images as their resolution is to low to print successfully
• No website shared images as their resolution is to low to print successfully
• Please do not submit any photos containing nudity - including any nudity of babies as we will not print any cards with any nudity (no exceptions)

We cannot guarantee the quality of images that do not follow the guidelines above so please inspect your photo carefully before uploading.

Cropping of Photos:

If your photo needs to be cropped, please submit it unedited and we will crop it for you.  If you have specific cropping information, please  include details in the special instructions on your order form.  It is not always possible to crop as you request due to required finished photo size on the design you ordered, being one example.

On-Line Preview:

If there is an on-line preview option on the design you ordered, your photos will be submitted to us automatically with your order.

***For designs not yet available for online preview, or if you choose the "Let Us Do it For You" Option - you will upload your images immediately after checkout. You may return to the photo upload page via your account at a later time, if it is more convenient - for instance, if you are at work when you place your order. Simply log-in to your account and click the "Upload Photos" icon for the applicable order number. In order to qualify for any special offers, (sales, discount codes, etc.) we must receive your image(s) within 7 days after the date of your order.

How to Scan your Photo Correctly:

• Glossy photos provide better results when scanned.
• Only scan original photos - do not scan a copy of the photo.
• Please wipe the photo with approved material and clean your scanner before scanning the image. Any touch up of dust or other problems with the photo will be at an extra minimum charge not less than $20.00.
• Scan your photos at 300 dpi and a minimum size of 4" x 6" - do not crop your photo or make any other adjustments to the photo.
• Save the photo as a JPEG at the maximum resolution allowed by your scanner.

Copyrighted Photos:

It is UNLAWFUL for us to reproduce images that are copyrighted without the express written permission of the person or entity that created the original work. If you want to use a copyrighted image, please contact the photographer and request a signed copyright release.  Email the signed release to us at Customer Service along with your order number and full name on the order.  Once we have received the release, we will proceed with providing you a proof. If you submit a professionally taken photograph or image without a release, you assume all legal risk for violating any copyright existing in regard to the photo or image.  By submitting an image to us that is on a CD from a photographer, be sure it is the intent of the photographer to provide you with a "blanket release" as to the use of any and all photos contained on the CD.  You assume full responsibility for any conflicts arising out of improper use of any images taken by a photographer.

Copyright Indemnification Agreement:  By submitting an order and uploading an image or photograph to Announcingit.com, the Customer hereby agrees to hold harmless Announcingit.com for all costs, expenses, attorney's fees and/or judgments resulting from any claims or lawsuit made by any party against Announcingit.com for any grounds claiming that the work produced violates any copyright or proprietary right of any person or entity in relation to the use of any photo or image used in the printing of your order.
